Walk to the Stanišovská Cave…

The Jánska Valley (Jánska dolina), where the Alexandra Wellness Hotel*** – the venue of the Boccia Tatra Cup event – is located, ​​is one of the oldest nature reserves in Slovakia. It starts in the village of Liptovský Ján, is more than 15 km long and is the longest valley in the Low Tatras. It is rich in rare karst and natural formations, mineral and thermal springs, popular hiking trails run through it and has many dives and caves.

Enjoy the beautiful nature and natural scenery of the Jánska Valley on the easy walk from the hotel, along the asphalt road through the forest along the Štiavnica stream, to the Stanišovská Cave – the most famous of the Jánska Valley caves and the only year-round accessible cave in the Liptov region. In addition to tickets, small souvenirs can also be purchased at the ticket office at the entrance to the cave.


Route length (there and back):
  4 km
Terrain:  the route leads from the Alexandra Wellness Hotel area along the asphalt road through the forest to the parking lot below the Stanišovská Cave, from the parking lot to the cave ticket office (approx. 100 – 150 m up a slight hill) the dirt, gravel-filled road continues
Height difference:  56 m on the 2 km route (slight climb on the way there)


Accessibility for people with limited mobility:

•  wheelchair accessible (we recommend using an electric wheelchair, a drive, or a personal assistant),
•  who walk with assistive devices (crutches, walker, etc.), we recommend considering using a wheelchair or scooter for the immobile
